Teaching

I currently (2016-03) teach part time at Lane Community College. I am teaching CS 279, Network Administration.

Before that, I taught from 1997 to 2016 at Brigham Young University Hawaii. I served as Associate Dean, Department Chairman (of three different departments), and chairman of the Promotion Review Committee. I held the academic ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and then Full Professor. I wrote three textbooks that were used in courses I taught (Programming, Networking, and Web Design). I was inducted into two honor societies, Phi Kappa Phi and Upsilon Pi Epsilon.

Before that, I earned my PhD from 1993 to 1997 at Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology (OGI) located in Beaverton. OGI is now a part of the OHSU system. My PhD is in Computer Science and Engineering.

Before that, I taught from 1988 to 1993 at Griffin College in Seattle. While there I was chairman of the Computer Programming department.
